About our client
Established for over 20 years, this Retail Motor Industry Federation (RMI) member is a no-fault accident specialist that also offers a claims management service. It has built a strong reputation in the accident and repair sector thanks to the high quality of its workmanship, which includes bumper and paintwork repair, stone chip remediation and much more.
The challenge
As a company that works daily with insurance companies and claims, our client’s IT systems needed to meet insurance industry cybersecurity standards. This meant that all claim and customer information had to be correctly encrypted and all hardware and software had to meet specific security requirements.
The solution
ECOM conducted a full system audit of the client’s IT systems. As a priority, we introduced encryption services that complied with insurance industry standards. At the same time, we ensured that all software and the network was up to date. We also moved individual users to the cloud-based Office 365. This work was conducted at sites in both London and Essex and, once complete, we conducted thorough penetration testing to check for vulnerabilities.
Thanks to the dramatic improvement in the client’s cybersecurity, it now more than complies with insurance industry standards for handling customer data. As a result, the company gained a competitive advantage over accident and repair businesses that don’t have the required systems in place.
Once the client’s systems and software were fully checked and operational, we helped the client work towards Cyber Essentials – government-backed certification that is designed not only to promote ongoing cybersecurity, but can also reduce cyber risk by up to 98.5%
