It doesn’t take long for IT equipment to be superseded by the latest version. And in the past, very little thought was perhaps given to what happens to this superseded equipment when we’ve finished with it. But thanks to the work done by JBC Computing, old IT equipment can now be repurposed or recycled.
“We’re really pleased to be recommending this local family-run business to our clients,” commented Lloyd Harris, Managing Director at ECOM. “It’s a great way to limit your impact on the environment, while having the IT equipment that your business needs to grow,” he added.
Old equipment, including; phones, laptops, routers, screens and keyboards, are collected free of charge. Then JBC’s technicians repair equipment wherever possible. If items can’t be fixed and reused, they’ll be broken down into parts and recycled. JBC has a no landfill policy and clients receive a certificate detailing what has happened to their old IT paraphernalia.
The idea of reusing or repurposing IT equipment can sometimes raise questions around security. So, it’s reassuring to know that hard drives can be completely destroyed, making it impossible for information to be recovered from the hard disc. Even if your computer goes elsewhere, your data is secure.
